Summary
The target company is developing and operating a Material Recovery Facility (MRF), an Organic Waste Treatment Facility for biogas generation, and a biopower generation facility at a large-scale waste accumulation site in the Tangerang area (near Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport) based on a BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) agreement with the Indonesian government.
On another property, the target company also owns a power generation facility that generates electricity from Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF).
The revenue source consists of
① fees related to waste sorting and processing (tipping fees) contracted with the Tangerang regional government and
② sales of electricity generated from RDF to PLN (government management electric company in Indonesia). The electricity generated from the produced biogas is consumed in itself as electricity for facility operation.
The project of the target company is positioned as a national strategic project in “Presidential Decree No. 35 of 2018 on the Promotion of the Construction of Facilities that Process Waste and Generate Electricity Using Environmentally Friendly Technology” and is eligible for preferential treatment.
The preferential treatment includes
① purchase of electricity at preferential prices and
② subsidies from the central government for the Tipping Fee paid by the local government to the target company.
The target company is looking for investors to expand their business with the same model in other regions than Tangerang.
